Archaeological walk in the footsteps of the Etruscans: Cerveteri, Tarquinia, Ferento and Vulci Park.

Day 1: Cerveteri and Tarquinia, the main archaeological centers of Etruria.

Arrival at Fiumicino Apt, transfer and short visit to the Etruscan town Cerveteri.

The city of Cerveteri has a very ancient history, presumably dating from the middle of the ninth century BC, as highlighted some archaeological research that has revealed the presence of a stable job in the area with settlements and related Etruscan.

Visit the Necropolis of Banditaccia: complex of Etruscan tombs, is one of the most important necropolis for the beauty and grandeur of the graves and the importance of the finds; the Sarcophagus of the Spouses is of considerable importance. The work is now in the Museum of Villa Giulia in Rome.

We proceed for the town of Tarquinia – Walking through the old town admiring the medieval and Renaissance. Diving in a distant history 3000 years to discover the lifestyles of the lords of the sea, or just relax in the sun on the beaches of the Etruscan Riviera. Tarquinia is a perfect mix of history, art and nature which responds to the demands of the most discerning travelers.

Visit to the Etruscan necropolis Monterozzi – The Etruscan necropolis of Tarquinia, covers seven hundred and fifty acres and includes around two hundred graves. The peculiarity is the vastness of the paintings.

Lunch, in the afternoon free time. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Roman Theatre Ferento, Tuscania and Vulci Park.

Breakfast and departure for Ferento (location 6 km from Viterbo).

Visit to the amphitheater and the castle of Montecalvello. Amphitheatre Ferento.

Lunch and continuation for naturalistic Park archaeological Vulci (Montalto di Castro, Viterbo). On the way, stop in Tuscania. Visit the Church of St. Peter and the Necropolis of the Madonna delle Olive.

St. Peter’s Cathedral in Lombard Romanesque style is the most important monument of the city and probably one of the most beautiful in Italy. It was erected in the eighth century and subsequently amended.

At Archaeological Nature Park visitors can admire the archaeological excavations of Etruscan-Roman city of Vulci, the noble Etruscan tombs, the exhibits in the National Archaeological Museum, all immersed in a pristine Nature traits.

Visitors can choose to enjoy the Nature and History of Vulci walking calmly along one of the paths reported: the short path (km.2,300), the full path (Km.3,500), the nature trail (1,500 km), which allow to visit the archaeological excavations of Etruscan-Roman city.
